To ESTIMATE Chapter 33 Benefits Effective October 1, 2013:

Use the E-5 with dependents rate to complete the calculations below. Apprentices in a Department of Labor registered program enter the JATC zip code if you are part of a Registered program.

Based on your time served on active duty after September 10, 2001, determine your eligibility percentage for maximum amount payable.

If you are considering electing Post 9/11 in lieu of your current entitlement, determine the number of months you have received OJT or Apprenticeship benefits though September 30, 2011. Remove these months from the Post 9/11 monthly payment chart starting at the top. For example: you have been enrolled 9 months in a 24 month program, therefore eliminate the first 6 month period of payments and eliminate 3 of the 2nd 6- month period payments. You have 3 months of the 2nd 6-month period, 6 months of the 3rd 6-month period and 6 months of the 4th 6-month period remaining. Multiply each times the monthly payment amount to estimate your total remaining entitlement.
